My students all have their own personal chromebook laptops that have been supplied by the district. The students love using technology for programs like Epic! books, SplashMath, Classworks, and other educational programs. A lot of these programs have sound to read to the students, which is necessary for a lot of my students that are emerging readers. However, the vast majority of my students do not have their own headphones or the financial means to have their parents purchase them any. I purchased some very inexpensive earbuds online for them, but they were low quality and did not last long in my classroom. At the moment most students just turn their volume down very low and try to focus on their own computers sound over the sound of the 18 other student's computers playing at the same time. Good quality headphones would go a long way in helping my struggling readers listen to reading!
