Donations to this project will build a library that will follow monthly themes to support the special education curriculum and facilitate language learning for students with severe communication disorders. The topics are relevant to their daily lives, including seasons, clothing, animals, food, body and social skills. Let's use the strengths of the students to make learning fun, meaningful and accessible! These books will be adapted to be accessible to all learners. Each page will have a visual prompt inviting the students to engage with the reading. Since many of my students use Augmentative and Alternative Communication, they will have the opportunity to respond non-verbally using picture symbols.
