The Handwriting Without Tears curriculum is instrumental to my letter identification and letter writing instruction. I have previously had to borrow these materials from other teachers but since my Transitional Kindergarten students use them daily your support will make it possible for my class to use them throughout the day. The Handwriting Without Tears is a multi sensory writing curriculum that engages students in a developmentally appropriate way. My students enjoy practicing writing the letters using the magnetic slates then trying it again using the playdough trays and the chalk slates. This variation allows them to develop their fine motor skills using chalk, playdough and a magnetic wand all while having fun with letter writing. The mirrors I am requesting are a great way for my students to see themselves as they say the letter names. My students will also benefit from the use of these mirrors when we make self portraits throughout the year. These mirrors stand up and my 4 and 5 year olds do not have to try and hold them while painting their self portraits. They will be able to freely handle the brushes and paints without juggling the mirrors as well.
