My students learn about American history through project based learning. They spend the entire year researching and creating projects to learn the content. Some students struggle with the research side of project based learning. They don't always understand how to find accurate information on the internet. Other students struggle to read long passages on a computer screen and just prefer to read from books. Additionally, there is a handful of students who do not have internet access at home. Having a classroom library would allow me to lend out books to these students so they can complete their necessary classwork at home. Providing my students with a history library within the classroom ensures they will have everything they need to be successful with their projects and learning objects.
