My students don’t know what books can do for them! Books can take you on adventures, make you feel emotions and relate to characters. Without access to excellent reading materials they can never find that love of reading. That is my goal as an educator. I plan on following The Book Whisperer by Donalyn Miller to cultivate the love of reading in my classroom. We will have lots of independent reading with books from their choosing, literature circles, book talks/reviews, conferences and lots of encouragement, sharing, and collaboration! The books will help my students in more ways then I can explain.
