Brains grow and develop best during childhood. It is during childhood that teachers should provide various ways for children with disabilities to learn and develop. The phonological awareness cards will be used in conjunction with a reading program to develop the students' reading, phonological awareness, listening, auditory processing, and vocabulary skills. The vocabulary cards and sign language cards will be used to develop the receptive and expressive language skills of children who need a multisensory and multi-method approach to learning. The dry erase board and markers will be used by the students and teacher to show and model words, sentences, and graphic organizers to improve reading and writing skills. The printer and laminator will be used to protect, preserve, and maintain materials that both the teacher and students create and purchase to develop speech and language skills.
