Due to the rising cost of materials and resources, it has been more difficult to find hands-on materials to teach science effectively. With money being the largest obstacle I feel by choosing science lab supplies and materials I will be better suited in preparing my students for their futures in high school. Since we have had so many days out of the classroom I am trying to find better and more efficient ways to try and catch my students up. Resources such as the hardness scale kit for rocks and minerals can only be used for so long until we have to find new ones. It has been 2 years since my science labs have had these kits. Most of these materials will be used for many years to come and will most certainly be used in the most effective manner possible.
