These books will begin to fill and enhance our second grade classroom. This is a new grade level for me and I want to enhance the print-rich classroom that I have begun to create. My classroom library is a place that can foster the love of reading for each student. Students are able to access books at their independent level. They deserve to have access to a variety of genres and levels. They take great pride in caring for the books and are always thankful to have books that engage them. I have spoken with incoming second graders to see what their dream list would include. I hope you will partner with me to help this literacy dream come true. The students will also be able to choose books that spark an interest in specific subject areas. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. It will also allow them to explore issues of diversity and belonging.
