Who all has learned a skill from example or modeling? I for one am someone who thrives when I am able to see a skill being demonstrated and worked out first had. I teach a lovely group of students 5th and 6th grade ELA. I know my students would be more successful at creating writing and develop stronger language arts skills, if I had a document camera in my classroom. 5th grade is a big year for Language arts! As many of you know, this is the year they will be tested on their essay writing abilities. I grade my students essays with the state rubric. We go over the rubric and examine other essays together. I enjoy having the students grade random essays from the web. It would be awesome to display these essays on the document camera, so the students are able to break them down as a group. Basically, I teach an awesome group of kiddos and they deserve the best education possible. Having this document camera will get me one step closer to providing them with just that!
