A horseshoe table is essential to make small group learning organized and accessible. In addition, the other students in the classroom should be doing meaningful activities to practice skills while I am teaching small groups. Because of COVID 19, educators must adapt their classrooms to distance students and keep them safe. Independent learning centers and materials are the best way for students to have safe, but hands on practice with learning objectives. Learning centers incorporate play with academic skills. Research has stated that young children learn best through play. With these tools for small group instruction and centers, I will be able to meet the needs of my students and see them grow.
