Teaching pre-k through 2nd grade classes, and Destination Imagination with groups averaging 20-50 students at a time, and incorporating technology to increase student independence and comprehension, has taught me that a large, safe space without clutter is vital to elementary students' safety. I use many online resources for a variety of reading, math, music, science, social studies, health, and dance classes, but currently have a projector cart that limits our space drastically as it has to be centered for greater visibility during large ensemble sessions. Students love exploratory movement, uninhibited dancing, and the space to express themselves musically and academically. A ceiling mounted projector would allow me to use our online reading, math, music, science, social studies, and health curriculum more consistently and seamlessly. It would increase the safety of my students not only during academic classes full of equipment, but also during dancing sessions when I ask students to use all the space they can.
