I want to change the look of your typical classroom by adding flexible seating options for students. Sitting in a chair for six hours a day just isn't working for 6-7 year olds anymore. First Graders have so much energy, but they only get 30 minutes of recess every day. So what do they do with that energy the rest of the day? In my classroom, they're going to have the option to move freely around the room utilizing various seating options.
These wobble stools are the perfect addition to my classroom because since they wobble, the students have to use energy to stabilize the stool. By adding wobble stools to my selection of flexible seating options, it's also giving the students a chance to choose what seating option makes them learn best. As adults we know how we learn best, but kids are still discovering how they best learn.
Wobble stools are not only an outlet for students to get those wiggles out, but they also keep them engaged and on-task by being able to make their own choice of what type of seating helps them to become better learners!
