Middle school is a exciting time when students' interests grow to include a wide range of topics. They thrive on reading about and discussing new knowledge. Scholastic Scope is an ideal resource to spark conversation, thinking, and discussion, especially with reluctant readers. As a reading specialist, I will be using Scholastic Scope to further develop literacy skills with students who are reading below grade level. It is important to have full color, engaging texts in students' hands. These magazines are specifically developed with reading and writing activities that align with the common core standards to enhance literacy in a fun, engaging way.
