These materials will absolutely make a difference in my students' learning. These four classroom robots can be used in a variety of ways from grades 3-6. Students will be working on design challenges, coding the robot through mazes, art and more. The Sphero robots come with a robust free app as well as a variety of lesson plans, resources, and support. Sphero robots will provide my students with hands-on real-world problem-solving skills in an interesting and technologically relevant way. These four robots will be used in team settings within the library as well as shared with teachers in the school for further classroom lessons. Imagine students presented with a 6 foot by 4-foot maze on the floor. They will need to calculate distances, speeds, and degrees of rotation in order to navigate their round rolling robot through the maze to avoid obstacles. This activity is just one of the possiblities these powerful robots present us with. I am so excited at the prospect to share these with my students.
