Who doesn't love to be read to? I have many audio books. This iPad will help me get those stories in the hands of my emergent readers. My students will be able to get a book and listen to the story being read to them using a splitter in a small group on the iPad. Students will all have equal access to quality children's literature while I am working with small groups targeting literacy skills during center time. The iPad will also be used at other times during the day to work on other academic skills such as handwriting and phonics. I currently have 1 iPad. This project will add one more to give me 2 iPads for 28 students. Students will be read to daily with high quality children's fiction and nonfiction literature and gain literacy and language skills in a cooperative environment while sharing an iPad.
