I chose a foam playmat instead of a rug for many reasons. A conventional rug gets dirty quickly and holds allergens and dust! In contrast to a conventional rug, a foam playmat can be cleaned daily and easily. In addition, it does not stain and provides a more comfortable seating option for students since it feels like memory foam! The books are the most important part of an inclusive library! The books that I chose allow students to see themselves being represented in the books they are reading! It is so important for students to see different races, genders, and characters of varying abilities being represented in what they are seeing and reading. Finally, the floor pillows make the classroom library more inviting, which will get more students to spend more time in there reading!
