Flexible seating gives my students options in where they can sit, which is what research shows middle students need: choice. With the padded floor chairs and trays, students will be able to make decisions about where they work best, developing an independence they will need when attending college or in future careers. Additionally, my students' growing bodies need the ability to move and wiggle. This will allow them to focus better and stay on task longer. Bouncy Bands for Chairs give them the space to fidget without discouraging their movement. Seventh graders especially crave and need to fidget or move about as their bodies develop, and they want to do this in a manner that won't bring unwanted attention.
