When leaving school on March 13th, I never thought I would be setting up a classroom in my house. I don't have all the supplies I need to be the most effective distance learning teacher. One such area I need help in is obtaining 3-D geometry shapes. The kids are struggling with the 3-D shapes we are talking about as they see them in 2-D form on Google Slides with dashes to show depth. The shapes would help show the kids the base of the shape and how we use it to calculate the surface area and area of the shapes. We have a triangular prism and a rectangular prism, the shapes would be so helpful to see the difference. Another area I need help with is a obtaining a dry erase board for my scholars to see the process of the formulas we are using. I have the formulas on Google Slides with step by step lines however, with the different levels of understanding it is difficult to process sometimes. Also, if solving for a different variable, there is no way to show the progress to solve for a different variable. This board would change the way I am able to teach to reach all the different learning styles. Additionally, the dry erase I choose, can easily be incorporated into the classroom when we go back for group work. It allows for movement around the room to address individual needs.
