These practice pads will go to help our students in the class learn more efficiently this year. In addition, they are durable and will stay at our school for years to come, helping future generations of percussionists thrive in their learning. If the numbers continue to grow in the program, these instruments could potentially serve over 1000 students over the next 20 years! This project will specifically help percussion students to learn by providing a consistent medium for group practice. By all having similar playing surfaces, it will be easier to distinguish correctness in rhythms and playing techniques, and provide classroom productivity by ensuring everyone's needs are met before we start to learn. The stands are necessary because we often have students who are either too tall or too short to place their practice pad on a table or a music stand. This can result in arm and hand strain and possible injury if not corrected. Adjustable height for as many practice pads as possible is a necessity in the middle school classroom.
