This series of lessons will be offered to all first through third grade students in our lower elementary classes. We will follow our lesson about The Big Bang and the creation of our universe with The Time Line of Life. At the beginning of this series students will have a general introduction to time lines, and research. As they dig deeper they will be presented with specific information regarding the Paleozoic, Mesozoic, and Cenozoic Eras. Students will then have the opportunity to explore fossils and artifacts as they place them in appropriate Eras on the time line. This project includes read aloud books as well as research materials that span various reading levels. Students will then take the information they have learned and find ways to present it to the class. These presentations can be written reports, sculptures, models, paintings, poems, or any other representation that students choose. We are excited to give our students an outlet for artistic expression as we focus on science and history.
