I am requesting these professional development texts to keep me updated on current best practices in literacy. The ideology in the two professional development texts are proven and can be applied to any student literature. The picture books listed are examples that will help me implement the techniques, using current issues and/or characters that appeal to my students. I am driven to create, for my students, both a love for literature and the belief that they can connect to others through the printed word. I would be grateful for diverse children's book so that my fourth graders can see themselves and the world around them.
