Have you ever wondered if the fish you were buying at the store or ordering from a restaurant was the actual type of fish it says?? This project will allow freshman in high school learn about DNA, how to remove it from fish, how to prepare it to get genetically identified and compare results to determine the actual species of fish. Students will collect samples of fish from local grocery stores and restaurants. We will then enter our project into local science fairs and hopefully end in taking our project to a couple University Science Fairs. We are a Title I school so there is no money for a project like this. Please consider coming along side of us to allow our students have this incredible experience!
