How can we use Newtons laws of motion to engineer a rocket, and launch an egg without breaking it? Newton's laws of forces and motion govern our universe, and are a basis to many engineering problems. Teaching about Newton's laws through an authentic project allows students to utilize their knowledge of physics to applied engineering practices. Students will work in small groups to design a rocket that can launch and land an egg without cracking. The requested rockets, launchers, and engines are essential supplies to safely allow student to build and test their designs. This project will allow us to get kids into the real world of science and engineering with rigor and relevance.
