I am requesting iPads to provide educational opportunities for my students through technology. Students will use the technology to access engaging activities, complete research on topics we are studying in class such as historical events, weather patterns, and author studies. In addition, students will type reports on the computer, which will ease the revision and editing process for lengthy written papers. Online programs such as Freckle, Smarty Ants, and KHAN academy will provide support for struggling students to get additional support, while also providing enrichment activities for learners that are above grade level. Students will use the Ipads to present the information they have gathered about a topic to share with their peers. The technology will also be utilized as a learning center to allow students access all throughout the day for research and exploration of core content in reading, writing, and math. The educational uses with Ipads are endless, and it is a tool that my students will thoroughly use to enhance their learning and keep them up to pace with our technologically-driven society.
