Communication and self-expression is often difficult for my students. However, technology has been amazing in making students feel comfortable and giving them a medium to express themselves. We are requesting ink, an iPad and case. When students are in a comfortable setting like the requested bean bag, they are able to let their guard down and feel secure. That sense of security allows students to learn and succeed. An iPad and comfortable seating allows students to use a familiar device and setting to excel. They can choose to to talk or attend to an appropriate app while feeling secure in school. I want my students to have the tools they need fully express their needs and desires. I also want my students to feel safe and comfortable at school.
