The classroom carpet is a common meeting place for my students.. Concepts are introduced and practiced. Stories are heard. Thinking takes place. Friends are made. We can gather around something new and explore it together. It's that one special place where everyone feels welcome and safe! Our current classroom has old carpet which will not be replaced this year. The carpet is a home inside a classroom, fostering learning, creativity, and friendships. Community is so critical in developing confident, capable learners. By having a classroom carpet, the students will have a chance to get away from their desks and come together to learn up close and personal.
