I am re-starting my career as a classroom teacher after 12 years of serving teachers as an instructional coach. I have watched students become more and more dependent on technology over the years. My goal for this year is to develop a culture of readers. It is imperative that great books are readily available for my students. I am starting the year without a classroom library. When a child tells me they don't like to read, my response is always, "You just haven't read the right book yet!' All of the books have been specially selected for my 6th grade students. Students can choose one that truly interests them and hopefully find that magical book that hooks them for life. Help me give my students the chance to LOVE reading!
