Classroom environments are always changing and can be overwhelming to students. Some of them can feel as though they are being bombarded on all sides. I am the inclusion teacher this year and I need ways to support the learning of my students with special needs. Giving special needs students the tools they need to be successful helps boost their confidence and success. Environment is a huge focus of mine this year. Hands-on materials are a must have, especially in math. The headphones will help students to focus and avoid overstimulation. By eliminating as many distractions as possible and utilizing flexible seating options such as wobble cushions, all students have greater chances to thrive.
