Providing calculators will make a huge difference for my students’ learning and progression in class. Students at my school are often unable to provide even basic supplies like notebooks and pencils, let alone luxuries like calculators. Having calculators available to students will increase confidence and reduce frustrations. Your help will ensure that all of my students have greater access to the materials, which will help them learn, understand, and retain higher-level math concepts. Many of these students also struggle with advanced multiplication techniques, particularly involving decimals or fractions. Conquering grade level material can be difficult when these students feel limited by their perceived mathematical weaknesses. Students are able to use a calculator to ensure accuracy and work more efficiently. This enables our class to work on more skills throughout the school year. When these students receive calculators from kind donors, they will appreciate that there are people who care about their education and encourage them to try their best to learn. Having fun, high quality supplies helps students be more engaged in their lessons. These students will feel more confident about completing their assignments in class. I have seen that such access greatly increases students' understanding.
