Digital technologies are now an integral part of our every day lives. It is essential that we, as educators, effectively integrate these technologies into the learning environments for our students. 3D printing will allow my students to acquire new knowledge about technology alongside the traditional imagination, design, planning, and collaboration opportunities that are so important in the educational experience of every child. Having opportunities to be independently creative is essential to the education and individual well-being of every student. Access to a 3D printer would greatly enhance the creative environment my students will have access to in our new MakerLab. This particular 3D printer was chosen for features that make it accessible and safe for the age range and ability level of the students using it for design.
