Because my students all have different needs, the flexible seating in my classroom will help them in many way reach their goals. Many of my students have trouble focusing and fidget a lot. There is a lot of research out there that shows the many benefits of flexible seating. Students feel empowered by having some degree of choice and control over where they get to sit in the classroom. Many flexible seating options stimulates students' sense of touch, such as the flexible space wobble cushions. They can use these cushions to sit at the lower tables and focus on their work. Not every child has the same need as to the type of learning environment and seating options as the typical hard desk and chair. If you can switch it up, and let them have the power to choose, they will be more engaged in your lessons and thus, succeed in the classroom.
