My goal for this school year is to incorporate alternative seating options in my classroom. I want my classroom to be an inviting place for my students to learn. Flexible seating will allow my students to find comfortable positions throughout the classroom. Comfortable students are calm, focused, and productive. My students will have the choice to stand at a workstation, sit on a wobble stool, or complete work on different stools. These seating options will give my students opportunities to move while working, so they can harness their energy into productive learning. These opportunities will increase student motivation to learn, as well as improve their understanding of themselves as learners.
