My students rely heavily on pictures, visuals, and tactile materials to obtain vocabulary and language. The vocabulary cards will be introduced to the students, the word and sign will be given. These will then be used in a reading story. Real Life Pictures are a great learning tool for my students! In addition to learning the vocabulary, students will be able to sort the pictures into related categories and learn their new vocabulary to talk about their categories. Students will be able to identify the beginning, middle, and ending sounds in the pictures shown to further increase their literacy skills.
