Mr. Rogers said it best when he said "Play is really the work of childhood." My students come to school excited and eager to learn and I want to be able to provide them an environment that will allow them to learn through play. Games will not only help them to do this but will also allow them to develop much needed social skills, which are absolutely crucial to learn and build on at this age. Games also provide children the opportunity to collaborate with their peers and become more independent learners, which is a must in my classroom! I want my students to not only learn, but to be active participants in their learning and to always have a fun environment to learn in. I also have students that struggle with learning the traditional "pencil and paper" way and being able to learn and show what they know through games will help their self-esteem and confidence to grow immensely!
