Giving my students the opportunity to have more individual time on laptops will help them learn important skills that they need to know how to do. I also use computers to progress monitor my special education students to help them meet the goals they are working towards on their IEPs. Giving them this opportunity will really help their independence and will be nice to pre-teach and show them things they may be doing in the general education classroom. This will help reduce their stress level and feel more comfortable and confident in their classroom that may not have as much assistance as when they are in the special education classroom with me. My students will be able to use these laptops to help them work on tasks independently. They do lots of centers and being able to use laptops for their independent work. Introducing more google classroom aspects and having them introduced to how to read and send emails is a great life skill that they could potentially work on with the use of these laptops!
