My students need opportunities to experience hands-on learning. Research shows this type of experience increases the level of learning of students. The future requires 21st-century skills like coding and our students don't get exposed to these kinds of things at home. Coding develops problem-solving skills, as well as critical thinking and computational thinking skills. It teaches students determination and gives them the courage to try new things. I'll begin introducing coding with some simple exercises and games. Then we'll do simple coding using learn-to-code websites before moving on to coding the EVO robots, with the students working in teams for a collaborative learning experience. I'm excited to teach my students about coding. I think they are going to love it!
