Our students thrive on sensory items and an area where they can go to feel safe and comfortable. Whether it be painting, singing, rocking side to side or just sitting in the book area, we all need an outlet and alone time. Sensory output and input is crucial in creating an effective learning environment in a specialized classroom. By providing our students with an attractive rug they can sit on or look at, to a wobbling chair and tactile items, they will be more productive learners. Some students need an area they can go to or an activity they can do to ease their minds, these sensory items and equipment will allow them to do so as well as making our classroom more inviting.
