First graders love reading and science! Classrooms offering a variety of informational books are critical for first grade classrooms. Students need to be able to explore science and read about a variety of topics. STEM activities can be extended from these books to create more interactive learning. This project will give my students more informational books to choose from when self selecting books from the classroom library. Many of these books tie into our science units. Fostering a love of reading and science is so important at this age! The project will provide a space for each student to store the books of their choosing. Comfortable seats will make reading that much more enjoyable during reading time.
