I know the price tag on this project is big, and this is the 2nd of several lists. However, this is what I need to help educate students while DOING SCIENCE, rather than sit-and-get science. That is the bottom line. Students want to do science, explore, experience, ask questions, etc. and I'm the person tasked with getting it done. Gel electrophoresis, model building supplies, experiment kits, glassware, chemicals, and more, are all things that will boost interest and hopefully inspire some to fill the future job market gaps in STEM, but without the materials in this project, it really won't happen. For the students that "aren't good at science" or "don't like science," my job is to institute change. For the students who like/love science, my job is to promote it. Without supplies, neither can occur.
