Students need to be reading high quality informational texts as well as high quality literature. My classroom library came with a decent mix of literature but there are only about 30 informational texts in my whole library. That's not nearly enough for the 24 kids that will be in my classroom! Many of our informational texts are outdated. The informational book I have about exploring space in the classroom library is from 1995. Quite a few developments since then! By getting these collections, we would be able to have up to date materials that would aid greatly in student learning!
