Using a tower garden year long in a classroom will help my students gain exposure to growing and eating fresh greens all year long! They will also be able to track data in a few ways- taking surveys, tracking growth, creating graphs. Students will also have the opportunity to use the produce they grow to create unique and tasty dishes to share with their community. Ultimately, I hope to have the students participate in the economy of their community by selling their products in a Farmer's Market and using the profits to replenish the tower garden supplies. Our school is located in urban Cincinnati and has huge community support. My students would benefit from the exposure to real life economics to make the connection from curriculum to their life.
