I have a diverse classroom this year due to restructuring of the district. 15 schools have closed, and I have a classroom full of students from across multiple neighborhoods. Each student will bring a unique ingredient to compliment our finished product. The Chromebooks will enhance team building in the smaller cooperative groups as the students get to know each other. Partner sharing and editing will also foster new friendships, develop imaginative writing, and oral presentation skills. Each student brings an individual technological ability that will be shared within the smaller groups. The main course of our year will focus on team building as well as individual growth in order to achieve success in this classroom and in their future classrooms. The additional Chromebooks will allow a larger number of students to work together producing delicious results both academically and socially. When the students share their written responses, their literacy and listening skills will improve fostering even greater academic achievement.
