Having iPads will allow all students to have access to the rich instructional materials available to our classroom through technology. Some of our students have iPads and computers at home allowing them to engage in research, exploration, to extend on lessons they've learned or to have assistance with lessons where reinforcement is needed. We want the advantages technology provides to be available to all students at school. Additional iPads in the classroom would improve engagement, collaboration, individualize student learning, and provide numerous online resources for teachers. By increasing the amount of technology in the classroom, this would allow teachers to provide all students with opportunities for remediation and acceleration. Whether students use the iPads for reinforcement and meaningful practice of a skill or to dig deeper into rigorous curriculum material, having the iPads will support their individual academic need. Technology captivates our first graders. Creating a classroom environment rich in technology is helping to prepare them for our future with technology.
