It is so difficult trying to learn when everything around you is trying to get your attention and keeping you from focusing on the lesson. I want to help my language arts resource room students be successful by providing them with flexible seating options such as a chair ball to help 'get the wiggles out'. These seats allow movement without being distracting to students around them. Also, headphones are needed by some students to cancel out any noise or distractions that are hindering their learning. Some students have a heightened sensitivity to sound and can focus and be involved when they can control the level of the audio!
