All of our school staff and families want students to be able to return back to school as safely as possible. My class has tables for students to sit in groups, which makes it more difficult to social distance. We will be in our classroom the majority of the day, sitting at the tables, as we are not able to join on the carpet and have direct interactions. In class, the plastic desk dividers will help separate student work areas and will help prevent the spread of germs and exchange of school supplies amongst students at each table. Protective equipment plays a huge role in the safety for students. The product I have selected will help my students and my school by gaining resources that will ultimately aide in decreasing the risk of contracting COVID-19. Students are also more likely to be cautious of distance when there are protective measures in place, separating their items from others. Students are energetic and excited to learn! Small group instruction will still be able to take place in our class- for students to collaborate with one another and get direct support with the skills they need. Face to face interaction is much needed for students and will be possible with the plastic desk separators. Students can engage in academic discourse with one another, manipulate math tools, and enjoy learning. A focus on safety is essential in order to keep schools open and students learning.
