As technology becomes more available, limitless educational possibilities emerge; however, the digital divide between the rich and the poor persists. Our school of 642 enrolled students shares one computer lab and a Chromebook cart (30 devices). This inadequate access to technology not only hinders students from learning the skills needed but also widens the gap. With access to Chromebooks, my students will be able to conduct research, learn to code, use digital platforms to improve academically and become proficient in G Suite. Engaging students in reading who are already reading several grade levels behind is a challenge. With technology, I will be able to engage my students and prepare them to compete in a global economy when they graduate.
