One of the main things I requested was new seating for my students. I see a diverse group of kids across several grade levels. Some children are not able to touch the floor in the bigger chairs, and they easily loose attention. In addition, many of my students have diagnoses of ADHD and executive functioning deficits. Better seating has been show to improve their attention and therefore improve their ability to learn! Books are language rich materials that boost children's vocabulary and language skills. I have requested many common books as well as materials that will improve reading comprehension (a very important skill!). My speech room is currently lacking materials to target reading comprehension.
