Students will use these brain boxes daily to develop strong problem-solving skills. They will be challenged to work both collaboratively and cooperatively while engineering new ideas every day. These STEM boxes will teach my students so much more than building and engineering. Students will need to learn how to work with a variety of abilities, talents, and personalities. Their groups' successes are dependent on these skills. Hands-on learning will be a daily event in my classroom with STEM Bins...ready-made bins of STEM materials that students will have access to any time of the day! These materials will make a difference in my students' learning by offering hands-on opportunities to build and work together on challenges. Inside one of 16 different STEM boxes are the materials needed, such as, magnetic tiles, building planks, Jenga blocks and even simple materials like straws and pipe cleaners, to solve various STEM challenges. STEM stands for Science-Technology-Engineering-Mathematics...all areas kids today need experience with to be successful global learners of the future!
