The personal cd's would be used in our reading center for all children to use during their rotational listening time, as well as their free time. The children would have the opportunity to select their own book on cd, have the option of grabbing a stuff animal and finding a quiet place in the classroom to listen to their audio book. The books on their personal CD player would develop their listening skills and quiet concentration skills. A skilled narrator brings out humor with expert timing and tone so for my Kindergarten children to hear others reading with fluency, it would provide the benefits from hearing clear pronunciation and native speech patterns for my students who have another 1st language other than English.
