To foster literacy, kids need to both listen to great reading and practice their reading. With good digital tools every student can engage in 21st century standards while developing their literacy skills. Students will use these tools to listen to audio books, record themselves reading, and for the specialized educational programs they access on their Chromebooks. We use small group instruction often in my class. So while I am direct teaching a small group, another group would be listening to books, and another group would be recording their practice aloud reading. My English learners would also use them to access Rosetta Stone lessons.
